  • Daily Income recording software

My question is does anyone know of a program designed to record monthly income for people who get paid on a daily basis and have a fluctuating income?

I deliver pizza for a living, so I get paid every daily. I have been using a spreadsheet to record my income for a while. The problem is that with a spreadsheet the task of figuring out how much I made each month is quite tedious. I have to manually make a SUM cell for each month. The way I do my budget is I spend last months income this month, because I made a different amount of money each month. But I have to add up 20-25 numbers to know how much I made last month. I don't need budgeting software, I just need a program that will let me tell it I made X on January 1st, X on January 2nd, etc., etc. and at the end of the month it will automatically do the calculation for me. So I can look at it and see that I made this much in December, this much in January, etc., etc..

The attached spreadsheet will do what you want. Results will be automatically tallied on the last row. It will work in MS Excel or OpenOffice.org (free software) if you don't have Excel.

Change the way you budget IMO

Budget based on 2 factors and 2 situations

      Factor 1- needed expenses
      Factor 2- wanted expenses

      2 situations
Plan based on lowest months earnings
Plan how to handle excess over wanted expenses

List your expenses- some will be permanent every month- like rent, electric, car payments, insurance and groceries.

some expenses will be variable and come and go- movies, beer, holidays etc...

Make sure the lowest month covers the permanent expenses
Establish a reasonable amount for expenses which come and go
bank anything above reasonable expenses for a slow month.
