The cc company issued me a new card and number. In my credit report, does this shorten my history with the cc company to the date they issued the new number? Just wondering if it affects my cc score.

    NO it does not
I have changed card numbers 2-3 timess (usually after doing lots of mail ordering/online ordering) and it shows continual service with the active account number.

Further corroboration that no, it does not matter. I've had that happen a few times now.

The number may change, but the history of your account does not and thus does not affect your credit score.

It's like if you had a folder with a label on the front and a bunch of important paperwork inside. The label might peel off the folder one day, but the contents remain inside the folder, intact and unchanged. You simply put a new label on the folder, but everything else remains the same.
