I need to find a tax advisor to discuss a few things. I just ran through my 2009 taxes and early estimates have me owing about $8k including about $2.5k for AMT. I moved up to the 33% bracket this year for the first time and it affected me worse than I expected. Things I need to discuss:
1) is there another way to work the taxes to avoid the AMT this year?
2) how can I plan t his year to make sure there are no surprises for the 2010 filing?
I have asked for recommendation on a local forum but did no get any replies. I don't want to walk into an office with no info. Is there any way to research tax advisors prior to going to see one?
