  • Here's some motivation to get on a budget

On July 11, about 45 minutes into the online show, Dave Ramsey gave a great motivational bit about budgeting, and taking action in general. I listened to it over and over again, and transcribed it. It is a great 5 minute read and will get you MOTIVATED. (At least it did me).

Read the exerpt from the show

I'd love to hear everyone's response.

I couldn't really warm up to his style of writing. He seemed to make the same, simplistic point over and over again without really going into any detail except to say, have a written budget. That's all he really said. I guess it might be helpful for people like what he described who are paralyzed by indecision or inaction.

    And he sounds pretty obnoxious.

I guess you need to hear him - instead of just reading it. But to each his own. Regardless, sometimes beating home a simplistic point is the point. A budget may be simple - but that doesn't mean people do it.

I personally liked it. Of course I also want to buy the book by the guy that says something to the effect of get off your butt! can't remember the title. anyways, I agree that it is simplistic but so true! I think that people think that saving money is hard and it really isn't. We tend to overthink it, myself included! Sure it is basic but obviously if people are on this site they need some kind of financial help or advice. This would be a good article to stick to your mirror or dresser and read every day, just to keep it in your mind. Sometimes we need a swift kick in the butt.
