Here's all you need to do.

Wait for your refund money. File an amended return later and I would suggest that you set aside money to pay a tax preparer to do it. Unfortunately, because of the mistake you will not be getting the full amount due to you at the moment. Good luck and hope everything works out well with you and I really commend you for coming out here and ask for help. That's really positive on your part.
Thank you! That makes a lot more sense now. I'm not worried about getting the full amount now, just the amount I was originally entitled to.

      1. Not all people have the same threshold for being offended or taking comments personally. I happen to have a very thick skin in that department. It takes a WHOLE LOT to get me offended. I've been on this board and a couple of others for a long time and I can only think of one time when I learned of a "side" conversation off the main board (not at this site) that upset me, and I did stop participating in that board after that happened. It was a shame, because I really enjoyed the board and I think I had a lot of input that was helpful to others, but I wasn't going to waste my time there if a bunch of people had nothing better to do than to criticize me.

So I'm generally the type to not take things personally. When someone posts something that I feel is inappropriate to one of my threads, which has happened plenty of times, I just ignore it and move on talking with the people who are being reasonable and appropriate. It isn't worth my time to argue with people like that.

      2. You can ignore posters who you don't care for. Click on Control Panel. Then on the bottom left, click on Buddy/Ignore Lists and you can list users to ignore.

Thank you. That's very good advice. I admit I was overwhelmed by the insults and I did fire off at everyone for it, and for that I apologize. I just take a lot of offense to comments that are irrelevantly posted about my personal life choices or mistakes. I find it very immature and counterproductive.

That said, I will try my best to ignore them from now on. Thank you for understanding my POV.
