  • Does your family spend too much money? Oprah Winfrey Show

Hello everyone – I’m here on behalf of “The Oprah Winfrey Show” and wanted to let you know that they have an upcoming episode for which they’re seeking guests.

Do you need a spending makeover? Are you feeling like your family wastes a lot of money on food, entertainment, clothes and gas? Is your family spending habits out-of-control? Are you starting to feel that there is a lot of money being wasted in your household? Do your children or husband spend more money than your family brings in? Is the current state of the economy making you feel like you and your family should be cutting back?
Would you like your family to stop spending so much money, but you're not sure how?

Oh dear another stupid makeover show. Why are we always highlighting the people that make poor decisions in this country. Instead why not make a show out of people who are not in a mortgage mess, have a savings, don't spend outside of their means. At least at the end of the show I can say to myself "see not everyone in the U.S. is an idiot." Instead there is going to be another show about "I can't help myself from buying all these clothes" or "I really needed that new boat so I could go to the lake once a summer" and the "I can't watch football on a 27" TV now can I." Start promoting people who are responsible and maybe it might leak out to the rest of the public that there are people like us out there.

I enjoy the shows. They aren't promoting irresponsible people. They are entertaining and sometimes with these shows, people see themselves reflected in those portrayed and they learn something.

I think that's supposed to be the idea, that the advice they give to the 'troubled' people on spotlight will be applicable enough to help viewers. The logic is there.... it's just depressing that it's so accurate. I guarantee that probably at least a third (half?) of the people who watch that show will say, "ya know, i have alot of the same problems... hmm.... maybe i should look at ::distraction:: HEY! SALE AT JC PENNEY'S TOMORROW!!!"

I wonder how much guest get paid for being on the show.
I guess there are plenty of people who would do the show for free but I personally wouldn't let anyone use my story for profit unless I was getting a fair cut.

I spend too much money and would like more free money to spend. I think that makes me qualify to be a guest for this show.

I have a really good idea. Why doesn't Oprah do the show on her mother. I just read an article that said that her mom filed a countersuit against a store b/c they sued her for failing to pay her $156,000 debt. She claims they shouldn't have issued her the credit in the first place and she was basically taken advantage of. And we wonder why we are in the mess we are in. No one wants to take accountability for their own actions and everyone elso is to blame. Ridiculous!

So is this going to be like the Extreme Home Makeovers where the show pays off all the debt, and 2 years later they are back in the same hole? I vote yes.

I bet Oprah would have my dog on the show in a heartbeat.
