  • Savings accounts for minors

I just found out that Capital One has custodian money market accounts for minors paying 3.15%APY or 3.20%APY(for Costco members with 5K min deposit).

This is way better than the measily rates at local banks.

    Thanks for the heads up!

I looked on the Capital One web site and could find no info. I will call them up tomorrow and see what the deal is!

I opened a ING Orange account for my son. It has a 3.0% interest on it and I have it attached to my regular checking account with and automatic deposit set up so I need never remember to put money into his account. It has worked out just fine. There is no minimium deposit required.

I agree with Tclah on this one.. ING accounts have no minimum and best thing is you get the referral if you're already a member and your child gets the $25 bonus as well..
