  • Obsessive about credit scores?

I just heard on Clark Howard how you can get your credit scores for free. I am not sure exactly which score you are getting but it will give you some idea of where you stand. If you are interested, the sites are available on his website:

I have a problem with having to give CC to get anything free. I have no respect for this website.

You can go to annual report for your report without giving a CC. I can't figure out why you can't get your scores once a year free.

The poster's site was fast and easy with no CC info.

This "service" is practically a scam. Their ads, which run much too often, shout and sing about a free credit report and then, a soft, quick voice at the end states, "Free credit report with enrollment in Triple Advantage."

Quote from the site: "When you order your free report here, you will begin your free trial membership in Triple Advantage Credit Monitoring. If you don't cancel your membership within the 7-day trial period*, you will be billed $14.95 for each month that you continue your membership."

                  No thanks.

If you want your free credit report, use annualcreditreport.com.

You can purchase a credit score (by itself) through any of the three bureaus directly or through the Annual Credit Report site when you obtain your free reports.

If you want everything all together, including your score from all three bureaus, etc., then you can purchase FICO Credit Complete from myFICO; currently priced at $47.85. Additionally, you may be able to find online coupon codes for myFICO.

The info from Clark Howard linked to by the OP is valid and may be worth doing, however, note that even Clark's site points out that the score provided is different than the official FICO score.
