Gruntina, did you receive your taxes back direct deposit or by check. Because it was by check you'll receive your stimulus back via check in a couple of weeks. If you filed direct deposit then I hope you get yours Monday. Your bank may have just delayed processing it

We owed the feds around 100 dollars and recieved a direct deposit from the state refund in the amount of 440 dollars back.

My husband said he opt for the direct deposit for the rebate check when we filed our taxes.

Now that I know your son is under 17....The only other thing I can think of is that your taxable income was low in '07 and your tax liability was beneath the rebate amount. For example, for a married couple, if your tax liability was only $1,000, your rebate would be only $1,000 plus your child $300, so a total of $1,300. Make sense? There is a calculator on the IRS website where you can put in numbers from your tax return, & it will tell you what your rebate should be.

I'm still trying to figure out why the IRS taxes my disability retirement, but won't count it as income toward the EIC or this stimulus payment!! SO I qualify for neither and I have an 11yo dd. Only the IRS, huh?!

I believe the point of the EIC is to give people an incentive to work, even if they don't make that much. Tax law doesn't alway make sense to everyone, but there has to be limits somewhere otherwise what's the point? I'm sure you get the child tax credit, and people without children can complain about the unfairness of that.
