        What are we, chopped livah?

As MonkeyMama might point out, CPAs are "too busy" for the average Joe. Be prepared to get the cold shoulder.

It's not a guarantee, but many banks are starting to hire financial advisers to offer services to customers... You might try asking your bank if they have something like that.

Yeah I don't know any one in New York. BUT good luck finding a CPA before april 15th. If you don't need one before the 15th I would wait. Any good CPA is too busy to deal with a new client right now.

Likewise, you are unlikely to find a CPA anyway without a referral. CPAs are too busy for anyone right now. It's not an average joe thing. It's a too many clients/not enough CPAs thing. So it's good you are asking for a referral. I don't know any CPAs around here that see new clients unless they were referred by a current client/friend. Just a heads up.

Summer will be a good time to talk to a CPA. Sorry I can't help with a referral though...
