  • Tax refund not as big as I thought

The numbers I posted yesterday were wrong. I had only quickly glanced at the forms from the accountant. I took them out this morning to review them and sign them and saw my error.

We are getting a state refund but we owe on the federal. We're still netting a refund but it is for $1,230, not $3,036.

That's not quite as bad, though it is still $100/month that we've overpaid.

Sorry to hear about that disneysteve, but 1K is still better than how much I got back.

Aw...and the other day you were so excited about the $3k

So does it feel better knowing that you didn't loan the IRS money or did it feel better knowing that you had $3k coming back even though you loaned the IRS money?

A little of both. I glad to know I didn't lose the use of 3K all year. I don't mind a small refund or a small tax bill. I'm just really happy not to owe 2-3K like I expected.
