How about #5 - Find ways to make more money so you don't have to worry as much about saving!!

Here's how they could prevent it -

1) Trim monthly bills so that they're living below their means, and won't need last minute cash at the end of the month.
2) Save money so you have a cushion for unexpected expenses.
3) If 1 and 2 are impossible because of low income, get a better job or a second job.

These changes aren't the overnight "fix" that a payday loan is, but they're MUCH better in the long term.

Good advice, although #3 doesn't really seem like a viable solution in this economy... Finding a job is tough, especially leaving one for one that may or may not work out or may or may not pay enough in the long run.
