Guys, look at this. The article is rather old, but the very last part is troublesome.

Authorized Users: Any Credit Risk? Any Benefit?

Apparently CC companies can interpret and make their own rules.... so, what one CC company does, may not necessarily happen with another. Rules were not consistent even back in 2003.

I thought the fact as to whether or not an a SSN has been provided was the key factor.

I'm not sure how FICO would work without that SSN as an identifier. There are common names and just by the name being on a account, I'm not sure how a name could be linked to a FICO score without the SSN as the identifier???

I just called up citicard and added my wife's name/ssn to my account. I hope this will do the trick. They said it will here in a week or so.

I will do a credit check on her and i guess we'll find out. Any idea how long it will take to show up on the credit check?
As far as I know, she should have the entire account history on her credit report as soon as the CCC reports and it is recorded by the credit bureau. Just like that. She can then apply for her own card if that is the case.

I really hope this is the case. If this works, I will add her to my other cc so her debt to credit ratio will be lower.

Last line in one of today's CNN reports, implies that the new FICO '08 scoring model is slated to be adopted in May....
