Who here has an account set up with ING Direct? How do you like it? Is there any fine print I need to be aware of?

Re: ING - experiences?
I am a HUGE supporter ~ and it's easy. I've been a member for over 2 years. There is no fine print. They are FDIC-insured like any bank, and you reap the benefits of their low operating costs. Their online account center is wonderful, and it is easy to transfer money to and from your account.
I have money automatically taken out of my checking account every two weeks to go directly to ING. That is my true SAVINGS ~ money that I don't really touch, but it accumulates interest at such a higher rate than the typical bank.
Plus, you get $25 when you sign up through a friend. It's fabulous.

Re: ING - experiences?
ING is great.. the $25.00 start up bonus is awesome but they need to keep up with the online bank interests rates! The highest i've seen is currently 3.0% (Emigrant Direct), Capital one is at 2.60%... even I have opened up accounts elsewhere (with NO bonus) just to take up the offer of a little more interest...
Side note:
(In case Big brother is watching) The other banks need to set up a referral service like ING! We need to be paid to refer other consumers to their banks as well!

Re: ING - experiences?
Hi! I also have had an ING account for a bit more than two years. I signed up through a link via Turbo Tax and got a $50 sign-on bonus.I have had to contact CS a number of times and they have always been uber helpful. I would highly, highly, highly, reccomend ING.

Re: ING - experiences?
I Am so glad I found this place! My Bank told me I could not open up an "adult" Savings account less than $100! And now I see this post for ING and now I am going to open up an account now that I know that it exists and that it is legitimate.
Thank you all so much!

Re: ING - experiences?
Speaking of ING, did you guys know that you can also open up accounts for your kids and receive the $25.00 bonus? I never knew that up until tonight actually... you can also set up a one time gift payment along with an account invite for kids, friends, family (birthdays etc) and still have them qualify for the 25.00... I love this bank!!

Re: ING - experiences?
you sign them up as primary then link yourself as joint (if you have an account you enter the client # .. it's alot faster).. you can use the same checking account for all of them. You can even use the same email address you get your statements e-mailed to!
