  • Internet saved us $30 yesterday

Once again, the internet has saved us money. I don't know how we lived without it.

We need a computer desk for our family room. We saw one we liked at Staples on Sunday, but it didn't have a price on it and it was closing time, so we didn't bother trying to find a salesperson. We came home and looked at Staples' website and saw the desk was $59.99 which was fine. Last night, we went back to the store (different location) and the desk was priced at $89.99. I went to Customer Service and explained that the same desk was only $59.99 at their website. The clerk said the website is separate and may offer different pricing. So we left, went home and went back to the website. The desk was still $59.99 and shipping was free on orders over $50, so we ordered it. It should be here tomorrow.

The moral is to always check online before buying anything. Even the same store may offer a lower price online than they do in their stores.

We always check online before we buy most out of the norm items (things besides groceries, etc). Either we check the stores website, try to find it from another site/store or look for it on eBay.
