how long for credit card app to go through?

I just applied for a discover more card for a balance transfer and it said my application needed to be reviewed and i will know within 30 days.

does it generally take the entire 30 days? or quicker? I am a student so my credit history is not that extensive (and I have an excellent credit score that last time i check a couple of months ago) so does that make a difference?

Normally for the fris time applicants banks tend to do a extenive enquiry , once you are approved later you wont have problems to get the CC
