  • Question about Store credit cards

I recently went to Radio Shack and applied for a credit card and was approved on the spot and walked out the store with $200 Phone and don't have to pay the bill until December. So is this the definition of a high credit score? Or can anyone just walk into Radio Shack and get a Credit Card?

Yes, they're able to do a quick credit check. it's similar to online applications that give you a decision in minutes.

Credit card companies don't have your financial well being at heart. They want to make money off you paying them high interest charges. They generally try their best to approve and hand out these cards.

Getting credit cards is no badge of financial honour. Paying all your bills in full each month and saving over 15% of your income is. That's the key to financial success.

Anyone with a half-decent credit history can get a store credit card. The fact that you were approved for a store credit card doesn't mean that you have a high credit score.
