I figured I'd revisit this just to give a little extra inspiration to those who may be new here. None of the financial improvements I've made in the last several months would have been possible without this forum. Thanks again.
Current personal CC debt:$200 (gas and groceries each month), don't carry a balance. Was $2000+ in August 2007. I do carry some business-related charges (airfare) which are all reimbursed bi-weekly.
Current EF Balance: $2500. Was $0 in August 2007
IRA/401(K): ~25% higher contributions than 2007
Remaining Debt: $3700 car loan ($163/mo). This was a simple-interest loan, so paying it off faster saves me nothing in interest.
I'm receiving a ~10% raise this summer, and plan to keep living "as-is" and saving for a house. There is going to be some interesting financial implications with the new position, as I'll be going on an Expat assignment for the next ~2 years and don't know how things will shake-out with expenses quite yet. At a minimum, I should be no WORSE off than I would be in the states.
Anyways, just another success story, all due to a little motivation for change and good info courtesy of this forum!
