It's time for me to renew our auto coverage, and I'm debating our coverage limits. As I understand it, you want enough coverage to cover your assets in case you are sued. In our case, we have about $350k in mutual funds, $300k equity in our home, and $350k in retirement vehicles. Our vehicles are very new (<2 years old), so we'll be taking both comprehensive and collision with $500 deductibles. For the bodily injury and uninsured motorist limits, should I go for 100/300, 300/300, 300/500, or 500/500? It's only about a $35 difference between the 100/300 and 500/500 choices.
