  • ordering checks by mail

It's been a while since I've ordered checks. In the past I've gotten them from one of the glossy ads you get in the Sunday paper with no problem. This week I saw 2 different companies offering checks. Checks Unlimited and Designer checks.

Has anyone used either of these companies? Is there any known problem associated with using these types of services?

Where do you get your checks?

I've been using Checks Unlimited for as long as I can remember. I've never had a problem with them. Anything is better than dealing with your bank and the ridiculous prices they charge.

I get mine from checksinthemail.com. I just had to order new ones. If you use the code SAVE you get free duplicates and $1.00 off.

I use the big business type checks, 3 to a page. The cost is about the same to me, so I order from the bank.

I get my business checks from Costco.
My bank gives me my personal checks for free, which many banks will do but you have to ask! I don't have any choice in style (no cute pictures) but free is free.

              Two checking accounts:

Charter One Bank - free checks - one part checks

Credit Union - CheckWorks, Personal Bank Checks, Business Checks, Computer Checks, Laser Checks, Order Online.
(first time ordering from them and very pleased). Their charge stays the same whether you're a new customer or returning customer.) $7.95 a box +free shipping. High quality check material.

I get my checks from Checks in the mail...... I could get them free from the bank but I hate plain checks, and I certianly don't want my checks to be an ad for the bank.

So I'll pay the $5/box from CITM. That reminds me I have to order new ones, but I could be moving in about a month, so I'll see if I move first before I order checks.

I have often gotton from the two companies mentioned. Never had a problem. Then I started printing them myself. Not with the amounts but just printing checks. Got a program at Staples where they also sell the paper. Now I have the bank send all my checks, saves a stamp and it is a free service. I don't remember the last time I wrote a check. I even used the service for the youth group fund raiser. Just sent a check to the church with a memo of youth group, then told the sec to watch for it.

I have used the companies through the mail and have had no issues at all!

I used to use the mail order checks with no problem; cycled through all the companies so I stayed at the new customer intro price. Now I've got a checking account with free billpay; no checks to buy, no postage to buy either, often payments are made electronicly anyway and they'll guarantee payments if you set it up on time. I use 1 or 2 paper checks a month but I've got plenty of them stocked up!

I had gone through one of the companies that I had previously had and since it had been over 2 years, they considered me a new customer. It's good to call first and find out especially since we aren't using that many checks anymore.
