One, and it is paid off, in full, every month. I'm thinking about getting another one, just to up the credit score.

2 Am Ex, One Chase (0% balance transfer, never use for new purchases!), One JCPenney, One Kohls, Have a few open and unused.

I don't have ANY and it feels good. I just have my debit cards... I am very afraid of Credit Cards. I probably owned 6-7 cards throughout my 28 yrs of living on this earth.

LOL, I'm more afraid of debit cards! I just know all of my money will be gone if I had a debit card. Knowing that I have to pay it all in one lump sum at the end of the month makes me use a CC more responsibly. It's funny how we all respond differently to various forms of payment!

No, I am actually a very disciplined debit card user. Thats why I had an online account for Capital One. Once I get paid, I make sure I pay all my bills for the month, then put a large amount into my capital one account.

I have an estimated amount I would spend for the month (like going out, going to clubs, etc, etc). I leave that on my debit card. If am I left with anything before my next month's paychecks, I will put the left overs into my capital One account.

It takes like 4 days to get money if I want to transfer it from my cap one account.

Thats why I've become such an effective saver over the past year.

I am very aware when I shop with my debit card, I know it's my money I am using, and I am incredibly conscious of that fact .

I have 2 that I use and pay off monthly
1 Discover that earns cashback (5% gasoline, 1% everything else)
1 Mastercard that earns 4% rebates on gas purchases

I have a couple of store cards that give me rebates for using them, but I don't use them very often.

number of accounts or number of cards?

I have 4 CC I share with my wife. Most have a zero balance month to month... if we travel, we usually put the trip on a CC and pay it when we return. Plus my Amex from my company.
I have a Circuit City account with zero balance
I have a best buy account with zero balance

We may have a store account at a few more places.

I have no credit cards at all. I use my debit card to pay for just about everything. I also recently discovered that if I run it as a credit card I still get some of the protection rights as with a standard cc. I did run into a few problems when I first gave up my cc's. I used a few payday loans from this site, nationalpayday.com, to get me through that. Still, getting those put a fire under my ass to pay off my loans IMMEDIATELY, and not begin that slide into debt. I have since gotten myself under a good budget/savings plan and am happily debt free.

I have 2 credit cards and 4 debit cards....but all I use is 1 credit card.

I am surprised everyone has so few cards
maybe it has changed but in the early 90s they would send you applications for cards,if you just never sent them back they would just send you a card
I have 9 I can think of it i look on my credit report I am sure I have a minimum of at least 10
It does not seem to negatively effect my credit score in anyway,not that i worry about my score i am not interested in borrowing any money
