  • Late payment

My husbands first payment was due on the 12th I thought it was the 15th I am going to pay it today. But how bad do you think it is going to look?

    Re: Late payment

sorry, but my first thought was "If you don't pay it, are they going to repossess your husband?"

You might call them and ask them for a repreive. Sometimes they are willing to overlook one or two late payments. But I don't know about the husband store...they might be different.

      Re: Late payment

My discover card payment is due on the 25th of every month I made a late payment 1 day late and called to see if I would still be charged a late fee, the lady that I spoke to told me that I had until the statement cutoff date to pay my bill since mine is due on the 25th I only have the 26th to make my payment, some people have up to a week after their due date to not be assessed the late charge, however I would not always pay late but it is nice to know about that.

Call them and speak to them. It can't hurt and it may help. People make mistakes and they do want you as a customer.

Puppypal, can you pay it online instead of by check?

Puppypal, I had a car loan with USBank years ago and they used to pull this kind of stuff routinely. I took my business elsewhere and reported them to my state's attorney general's office (suprise, suprise, they already had a file on them!)

                Re: Late payment

I usually get my credit card bill about the 26th and it is due on the 3rd. Sometimes, I have to mail the payment before I even get the bill so it gets there on time. The cut off date is the 14th of the month, but I have not gotten the bill yet.

I have no idea when my CC closing date is or when my payment is due. All I know is I get a bill in the mail and go online and pay it. I've never been late.

                    Re: Late payment

Something else you've got to watch for is that credit card companies have been known to remove your fee as per your request, but still jack up your interest rate for being late. You've got to watch them like a hawk.
