  • Which Credit Card?

I want to get a CC to put all my bills on and pay off at the end of the month. Any suggestions on which one I should apply for? My bills only come out to a couple hundread a month, not including the car payment. I would prefer to get something that has could cash back or rewards. I was thinking about the Chase Freedom card. Anyone try this? Or suggest another one? Thanks in advance.

I got the Chase Freedom card at the end of last year. I use it to charge gasoline and groceries. I've earned over $34 in the 2 months I've had it. I like that you can get a check at $50 or wait until until you've earned $200 and get $250 instead.

I had american express and I got $550 back last summer, but you can only get the money once a year. With my GM card, you can get the money when you have $100. So I am using that one and got the check for $100 in december.

That tool helped a whole lot. I found some really great cards. I spend quite a bit on gas so there are some great cards in there.

              Re: Which Credit Card?

I realize this may be OT because the OP is looking to get a new card, but if you currently have a credit card, call and ask what they can do for you.

I told Chase Visa I was no longer interested in my card which has an annual fee even though it was a United Mileage Plus card. I ended up with a no annual fee card with cashback which is automatically credited to the account balance -- 3% for gas, groceries, and fast food ( ) and 1% for all else. Unlike my Discover 5% gas card which has a low annual limit for cashback, the Visa's limit is $600 cashback per month (and it's unlikely I'll be charging $20,000/month ).

I get to keep my credit limit and credit history from the old card. Priceless.

I asked for a lower interest rate even though I pay in full -- the rep said to call as soon as I get the card and they will lower it.

The point is --- always ask for a better deal!

I am also looking into that card if it is the one where you wait and get 250 back. I have an offer for free transfers and like 18 months at 0% from them Although it is only 3% cash back I have another that is %5 cash back on groceries and gas and I make like $30 a month

It still exists, but it's just a shadow of it's former self. No more 5% cash back.

I use Citi Platinum Dividend and I love it. I use the points feature (not sure about cash back). 45000 points and counting. I'm hoping to get a few thousand more points to get an xbox360 and then switch over to the AMEX Starwood Card, which offers 1.25 airlines per $ spent.
