Do y'all have flexible spending accounts? If you don't, you may want to consider signing up for one next year if you have that option. That way you get to spend pre-tax dollars on it. DH and I set ours up with $4000 this year. And we are about to max it out -- lots of dental work (root canal, crown --yuck) and chiropractic. Plus over the counter and prescription meds (mostly sudafed and claritin -- please tell me colorado witll be better for allergies!). You just want to make sure you only set it up for what you need, use it or lose it kind of thing. But it makes a lot of the dental/orthodontic/medical bills a lot less painful, because you already have money set aside AND it's a savings because it's pre-tax.

Yep! I have it and have used it. Only to the tune of 658.00 though. The rest is out of my pocket. I could get the entire 1,000.00 but decided to leave the rest there to cover monthly visits until the end of the year, next year I will put MUCH more in.
