  • Wells Fargo brings to mind a different ad campaign

Anyone remember when Jack-in-the-box had quality control issues with their burgers and killed some people and made many others really sick? Their response was for Jack to come back and throw a grenade into the corporate boardroom during a meeting. Jack was back - the whole clown-headed campaign was a stroke of genius. He was a scout master with a bunch of little clown-heads; they even had Styrofoam heads of the little scouts that you could put on your car antenna (a chewed-up one said "Jack saved me from wolves" ). Very few people remember the food poisoning thing - except the seven hundred people who suffer for the rest of their lives. E. coli is nasty and its consequences last for life.

Chipotle is an amazing story; they keep getting closed for food poisoning and people are outside waiting for them to re-open.

    Heavy sigh.

I vaguely remember what you are talking about. We didn't and still don't have Jack in the Box here in the East, so I never saw the commercials.

I find it very odd that no one seems to see the difference.
I remember the Jack in the box thing being traced back to supply chain.

Chipotle's issue was homegrown with bad sanitary practices. They tried very hard to blame supply chain but since they were using many different sources it was soon ruled out. I have never eaten there but after they closed their stores for 3 days ( in my area) to DEEP clean and RETRAIN. I decided that was enough to keep me away.
I think many of these corporations think if they close for a day or half day for training/ sensitivity seminars or whatever the public just believes issue solved.
