  • What Are Your UNfrugal Expenses?

Frugality without sacrifice is my spending motto. But the "without sacrifice" part could be pushing me over the edge into unfrugality. So I took a closer look at where my money goes and found quite a few items I could spend less on. What those items are, how much extra they are costing me, and what (if anything) I am going to do about it I have detailed in this blog post:

What My Unfrugal Side Costs Me:

What about you? Where are you spending more than you have to? And how do you feel about it?

I'm not against unfrugal expenses as long as they are for what you want and don't break your own budget. There are a lot of things that I'm sure that other members here would consider "unfrugal" but I don't see it that way. I must admit that since joining here, I have changed my mind and found a lot of things I was doing that were unfrugal and stopped, but not everything.

I treat myself on a regular basis when I am able to save the amount I'd hoped I could. These "treats" aren't frugal and I could go without them, but they keep me motivated which I feel is more important. Not everything has to be frugal in my opinion.

I agree. In fact, I would go as far as saying that I am frugal in my baseline "needs" spending so I CAN be unfrugal in my discretionary "wants" spending. It is more fun that way!
