The cosmetics and beauty company L'Oreal was left "gobsmacked" after Adele reportedly walked away from a roughly $19 million (12 million pounds sterling) contract to be the makeup giant's new face...

"I don't want my name anywhere near another brand. I don't wanna be tainted or haunted. I think it's shameful when you sell out," she said.

12 million pounds of makeup is a lot of makeup, considering most come in packages measured in ounces, like 4 oz or 6oz, 12 million pounds is a lot of makeup

She is nuts! There is no way I would walk away from that kind of money. And not only that she could help so many little girls who don't necessarily have the model look feel better about themselves. She would be a great role model for those girls.

Don't you think girls and women would be better off if they were proud of their appearance without having to look to models as reference points and then spend all kinds of money to try to look that way? Society has a huge role in this, and maybe Adele's position on this subject will give us pause to reflect on how we currently judge each other. While I dislike her music, I do admire her position on this point.
