What a surprise that NJ is one of the most expensive.

It looks like Pennsylvania's prices are set to almost triple.

Ours is $19 behind yours. $69 to $200. Ridiculous. I have yet to see how this is saving us $.

Well, stick with that lower priced policy if you prefer it. What does it get you compared with an ACA subsidized account? What comes out of pocket with the lowest priced private policy versus the lowest priced ACA subsidized account?

I can't see the article. The ACA is going to be a godsend to my parents who are 58 and 61 and do not currently have health insurance. They are self employed with per existing conditions. When Dad used to pay for coverage it cost him 750$ a month for a very high deductible plan, which did not even cover his preexisting conditions. Now that their income has dropped considerably (from over 100k annually to 25k annually) they just can't afford it. But starting next year they will be able to get subsidies to help pay for a plan, and pre existing conditions will have to be covered.

I am also so glad that the exchange is there, because it is very likely that at some point DH will not be able to work anymore, and while I can get family coverage through at least one of my jobs the cost is extremely prohibitive. Buying through the exchange would be much more affordable, even without qualifying for subsidies.
