Yea, that kinda shed some light on the subject of raising the federal minimum wage, and both sides give some good arguments. However, employers must understand that you get what you pay for when you hire only for cheap labor. There are many ways to compensate employees other than cash. At the same time, employees must understand that if you take more upfront, the less will be given in the backend. Ex. If a person takes more per hr. then they'll run the risk of losing hrs., less insurance benefits, or they may have to increase their workload. Either of which, there seems to be a lot of room for compromise, and hopefully they will find a way for both sides to win.
