I've heard this idea being floated for years. But, I doubt anything close to this will ever happen. It would be political suicide for anyone to sign a bill that confiscates someone's net worth.

Yes, they are also proposing collective farms and compulsory reading of Marx and Engels collective works in high-schools.

Scaring dim-witted low information voters is a chosen strategy for the last decade.

Well, well, well! That will be creating uncertainty about Obama's regime especially among with private sector workers. Most of the economic stability in the United States after recession is mainly because of private sectors. This will be like offending them.

Yup. This is aimed directly at the tin foil hat crowd. Disappointing that so many people buy into such nonsense.

Who believes this garbage? This type of journalism is shameful and simply takes advantage of unfounded fears.

I really am getting sick of people out spreading stupid ideas about the government seizing retirement assets.

How stupid do you have to be to believe this?

That article is from 2 years ago. Nothing happened. Nothing will happen.

It was one person putting forward an idea to restore 401k balances with a voluntary account switch. And no one went for the idea.
