    I hope they have bought an insurance policy to replace their earnings if they fall ill and can't work.

      Yes, this ceases to amaze me, and is all a function of today's spending-first mentality, and is encouraged (or exacerbated) by the use of Credit Cards. Further, today's U.S. school systems fail miserably in that there is no mandatory "Finance 101" and "Budgeting 101" courses taught, which if it were up to me, should be started at the elementary school level. What are things going to be like in 20 years? It is hard to imagine.
