I think parents may think they are helping their kids when they are totally not. Look at all of the adult children still living at home at 23 or 25 or 28 or beyond, often paying no rent or living expenses. How is that a good thing? How is that teaching them to be responsible independent adults. It is just prolonging childhood IMO. Kids need to grow up and live as adults, supporting themselves in the process. That will most likely mean knocking down the standard of living they enjoyed with mommy and daddy until they can actually afford it themselves but that's life, or at least it used to be.Steve

* Why should I pay for my daughter's education when she already knows everything?
* There are no shortcuts to anywhere worth going.
