  • Buy A Car, Get Free Gas For A Year

With gas prices at $3 a gallon, Mitsubishi Motors has announced a "Gas Comes Standard" campaign that will give a year's worth of gasoline to all buyers of new 2005 Mitsubishi cars. These include the Mitsubishi Galant, Endeavor, Montero Sport, Outlander, Eclipse Coupe, Eclipse Spyder, Lancer, Lancer Evolution and Lancer Sportback.

Mitsubishi will give each customer who buys a qualified car pre-paid debit cards which can be used to purchase gasoline at major motor oil companies' retail locations. The cards will have a value of between $1,500 and $2,500. The exact amount will depend on the model purchases and the amount of gas required to drive that specific vehicle for 12,000 miles, based on the EPA combined rating for the vehicle.

If gas prices continue to rise, the amount of the gas cards given won't increase. The prices were set on September 19, 2005 based on the average price per gallon reported by AAA's daily fuel report. The program begins Friday and runs through the end of October.
