Probably not for everything. I can't tell you the last time I paid cash out-of-pocket for a razor or shampoo (name brand). But it might work for some.

Just to play Devil's Advocate, why should a business give a discount to unemployed customers? What will that accomplish? Yes, it will save the customers some money, but odds are the store is already suffering due to the weak economy. Give a bunch of your customers a 20% discount and your revenue drops even more, further straining your own business. That might even result in you having to add to the ranks of the unemployed by cutting your staff. Who wins in that scenario?

In my town - the way it is physically laid out? The main traffic flow is by Walmart and K-Mart is now off the beaten path. The Walmart parking lot is always full and K-Mart's is generally very sparsely populated. Prices compare fairly well, IMHO. Of course, SuperWalmart's with their whole grocery component make it the shopping choice for many. I personally prefer the smaller crowd. On a normal day, w/less 'elbows' and 'rude shoppers' and 'the pajama parade', sees me shopping way more often at K-Mart than it does at Walmart. FYI, our K-Mart has about 2-3 aisles of food nowdays with a cooler for dairy products and such. A 20% discount on top because Hubster's currently unemployed? Even better. Therefore, I'm assuming such a discount would drive consumers who would not normally shop K-Mart to give it ample consideration and possibly decide to deviate from their norm and ramble on down to the local BigK to give them a chance at earning said consumer's dollars. Caveats - a fairly decent variety to be found, and not as many workers as they once had. IMHO, worth giving them a go.

Hey I think you got me wrong I meant exactly what you said. I think every businessman even every people suffering from this serious trouble. But i wish there would be something like this by the government to the people, so that can help us.

Not really-- every company tries to price discriminate to extract as much revenue as possible, but gives it happy sounding names for obvious reason. That's why movie theaters have "senior citizen and child discounts" instead of "18-65 surcharges." I am sure their motives are entirely selfish. Not that there's anything wrong with that!
