No surprise. I never understood why anyone shopped there. I'd rather go to WalMart, Target, Best Buy or Amazon.com than Circuit City. I was there once or twice years ago and they were always sleazy, bait and switch kind of advertising. I'm amazed they didn't close up long before now.

I do wonder about the new stores they are currently building, though. What were they thinking when they decided to expand at the same time they were having so much trouble? No wonder they're closing up.

There have been a lot of good deals at CC lately, particularly online. This should provide some further opportunities for people looking to pick up some electronics deals.

True fact. Possibly the best deals have already been had.

Also remember that the Liquidators are not there just to "get rid of stuff". They are there to make a profit as they receive percentages of what they sell. They use all kinds of mind trips to make you think you are getting a deal. Shop around and "KNOW" what a good bargain is.

I went to Circuity City Saturday to see what kind of liquidation sale they will have on the Plasma screen I'd been eyeing on. They had the Sale Price AND the 10% off the original price. It was confusing in a way cuz people thought, they added 10% additional from the Sale Price. They took off 10% off the original price that is not posted in any of the products which I thought was misleading. Long story short, the reps told me had no special liquidation price.

I also stopped by a CC on Sat., the place was packed but the deals weren't so great. I found a couple of CD's, then I saw the check-out line from one end of the store to the other. I put them back and walked out.

Despite all the bad news, plenty of people are out shopping. My wife works at an upscale women's clothing chain store, and I'm amazed when she tells me how much people spend.
