Some of these are good, common sense ideas. Plus, if one does a little each year, then the whole house won't be totally out of date. A friend of ours did nothing to his home for 10 years and when he went to put it on the market, many prospective buyers turned up their nose at the fact it had not be updated (it was built in the 70s and had original fixtures, cabinets, etc.) since it was built. He said he liked it like that -- hope so -- he never sold it.
