Bill O"Reilly is calling for people not to buy gas next Monday and to try to cut 10% off of their consumption of AC use or any household use. Lower consumption has in the past lowered the gas prices.

It's worth a try. I'm not buying gas Monday. Pass it on!

The not-buying-gas-on-a-certain-day thing doesn't work. The small number of people who do it just load up the day before or the day after. Also cutting back on A/C is a good idea, but wouldn't it mean more in July or August? It'll be 65 degrees here today.

He said that they did it over the memorial weekend and it was a success. Anyday that something like gas doesn't sell is a statement to the vendors. Something else that you can do is not to fill up as much as you normally do. He had more detail on this and you might be able to get the information through his show.

Personally, I'm going to fill up on tomorrow because we are going on a short trip, but I will work it out so that I don't buy gas on Monday. Pass the word on.

So Bill O'Reilly is claiming credit for reduced gas demand over Memorial Day Weekend?

I think that he was saying that so many people didn't drive so much on memorial day weekend as they normally do and it showed up on the not the usual gas sales. Sorry, didn't mean to give that one to O'Reilly, but he was saying that Memorial Day weekend was a success because more people stayed home and it was noticed.

He's just encouraging people to lessen the consumption because it is that (normally) that either raises or lowers the price. Who knows in our crazy world today what is moving eveything?
