That government income is predictably related to gross domestic product rather than to percentage of income the rich pay in taxes seems almost meaningless. It doesn't demonstrate that therefore tax on the rich should remain as it is. I like the line, "to whom much is given, much shall be expected."

That's actually quite interesting. I always wondered why no one ever found any empirical evidence to support taxes increases/decreases. I will have to look at that more.
