    Make Your Dollar Stretch

That's a good article. Something that came to me as I read it is savings you receive when eating at home. In my state, we don't pay tax on food and medical items. When you go to a restaurant, you're paying more than you realize. My states tax is 7%. If a restaurant bill is $50.00, I'm paying $3.50 alone for the tax for that meal. Next comes the tip of $9.00 (18%). So now your meal is costing you $62.50. If you had bought the food for $50you would have saved yourself $12.50.

I think that $12.50 extra on a meal is alot to spend and alot to save if you cook it yourself. The 12.50 represents 25% more for your meal.

I'm not saying that people shouldn't eat out but I think that when you look at the breakdown it could deter you from eating out so often.
