  • Sadness can be expensive, study shows

If you’re sad and shopping, watch your wallet: A new study shows people’s spending judgment goes out the window when they’re down, especially if they’re a bit self-absorbed.

I'm not self-absorbed... but you're invited to my pity party.

But yeah, I definitely do not need a study to tell me that one.

Shopping period means spending! It doesnt' matter if you are happy, sad, etc. Just the fact that you are in the mall with your wallet means you are soon going to part with some money!!

I would say some people still believe Money can buy happiness if this study is any indication. Must be...look at the mall!

I went to the library and have been perusing books on finance. One is called the "Millionaire Next Door." The copyright is a bit old, but so far what I've read is true -- people who are wealthy actually live below their means and realize material things aren't the important things. Apparently the shop until you drop crowd doesn't buy into that but seeks happiness with "stuff."
