    Just think how much money he gave up in credit card rewards and savings interest while he was building up his truck fund in coins.

            Ah, phooey, this article is no longer at that link. Where does a person save enough coin to pay for a truck? I'd worry my floor would collapse under the weight.

              You get charged a fee at those machines. I can't imagine paying for my money. Check at local banks which sometimes have them (even for non-customers) and no fee is payable.

                IIRC, it took him 14 years to accumulate the change to pay for his truck.

                And just so you all know the truck he replaced was also paid for with change!
