Having enough money is important, but having heaps of it doesn't guarantee happiness. Instead, what matters is doing something that you enjoy and that gives you a sense of purpose -- and I don't want my children to be deterred from doing just that.

That's an excellent Devil's Advocate kind of article. Helps to keep things in perspective. I certainly agree that money in and of itself isn't everything. I believe money should never be the end but only the means to an end.

To be fair, I also want to point out that money can indeed bring comfort and joy in one's life. It just really depends on what that money is affording you in your life. If it means to secure your basic essentials and gives you a peace of mind, money can be a wonderful thing. If it only means a second yacht, maybe not so much.

Ultimately, money is only an arbitrary means of conversion. It's how we apply it that speaks of our wisdom and wellness... or the lack of.
