I heartily agree with your observations about the costs of watching TV. I have one to add: Decrease time watching TV to increase face-to-face time spent with spouse and children. A great threat to any married person's financial security is divorce. This especially applies to men (like me) who love to watch sports. When I watch sports I don't won't to be disturbed, which further isolates me. If one is determined to watch TV, then buy a TIVO so you can pause a program and pay attention to your spouse and/or children.
