Bill Gates no longer richest person in the world

MEXICO CITY (AFP) - Mexican telecom tycoon Carlos Slim Helu has overtaken Microsoft founder Bill Gates as the richest person on the planet, the Mexican financial website Sentido Comun reported.

Yeah, Microsoft has matured (as in, stopped growing) for years now, and with non-killer products in the pipeline, I figure it was only a matter of time before someone usurps Bill Gates from his top slot.

I just never figured a Mexican telecom tycoon would be the one to do it. My money was on Warren Buffet.

This telecom tycoon maybe the richest now because of great company stock performance, but I could see this stock and his networth falling in the future.
