  • Would You Sell Your Breast Milk To Make Money?

Apparently there is an active community of men that will pay for it.

Mothers selling breast milk . . . to men — JSCMS

Sure, but I'd have to get paid more than $1.50 an ounce ... pumping is time-consuming and not really a very fun activity.

No probably not. I would maybe donate/sell it for other babies, but I am with deca on the logistics. When I was producing milk all I did was feed my baby or pump all day. & as baby gets older and things get slower it's not like I wanted to pump any more than I had to. Was tired of feeling like a cow 24/7 for a year.

Then again I pumped way more than my baby ever used, I found it easy, but he continued to drink the stash until it was gone, as I stopped breastfeeding around 1 year (too exhauted since I worked full-time) so either way making extra that my baby wasn't going to use would be a hell of a lot of work for $1.50/ounce.

The whole fetish thing would creep me out so I wouldn't go for it.

I actually looked for a place to sell or donate milk when my son was an infant. I don't think I would artificially increase my supply just to sell it (and I agree that price is too low considering all the aggravation--pumping is no picnic). But I was working and I had way more milk than I needed and my baby never really took to the bottle. In ten hours at daycare he'd drink at most 3 ounces, and I'd be pumping 8 ounces a day or so. I pumped at work for many months just to be comfortable and to keep my supply up for the days I was home with the baby, and I had an overstocked freezer full of milk that I eventually had to just throw away.

Clean out my freezer, make a few bucks, and make somebody happy? Sure. I'd much prefer that an actual baby got the milk, but I don't know that I would care too much if some adult got a kick out of it. I'd probably just try not to think about it too much.

I would need alot more money than that to go thru the aggravation and I would NEVER buy online, formula is regulated and safer than buying online.

I would sell it if I had "extra"... it would be money in a time of lower income, and I see nothing morally wrong with it. And as the saying goes, for those men out there.."whatever floats your boat!". I wouldn't make a job out of it just FOR the money though. lol

But I DEFINATELY wouldnt buy it. Bleh.. you never know WHO its coming from. bleh blech!!

YUCK! I know lots of babies who turned out just fine on Infamil. I totally support breastfeeding but if I couldn't provide my own milk for my own baby then the little squirt would have formula.
