  • Credit Cards And Fast Food

If there was any doubt that Americans love their credit cards and fast food, the growing combination of the two should convince any doubters. It's now estimated that Americans will charge well over 200% more in 2004 to fast food through credit cards and debits cards than in 2003. These card expenditures will top $30 billion worth of fast food this year compared to $12.9 billion in 2003.

Fast food restaurants continue to embrace the credit card that they once shunned. The new figures are greater than previously projected and reflect growing consumer and merchant acceptance of using credit cards for small ticket purchases such as fast food. These numbers are only expected to grow as credit and debit cards become a standard in the fast food restaurant industry.
