  • Product Rebates Go Paperless

In a move that is sure to please those who save money through rebates, Staples launched a new paperless rebate process today. Called the "Staples Easy Rebates" system, customers can now simply submit product rebate information online, eliminating the need for the cumbersome and time consuming mail-in rebate process. While the typical rebate process takes up to 6 months, Staples says its new system should deliver rebates in about four to six weeks.

Staples decided to go to a paperless rebate process due to customer feedback which indicated that customers had a lot of frustration with the typical mail-in rebate process. The new paperless option, which is currently available for approximately 80% of Staple's rebate products, will eliminate the need for the time consuming effort of filling out paper forms, cutting out product bar codes from product boxes and mailing in all the information.

Whether purchasing at a brick and mortar store or online, the new system automatically alerts customers at check-out of all products eligible for a rebate and explains how to claim the rebate through the Staples Easy Rebates site. Once the required information is entered into the site, customers will receive email notifications of their rebate status and when their rebate check is mailed.
