      Thanks guys!
Hmmm... I'll have to think of a good way to do this. For now, what you can do is when you start a new entry, hold shift and click the 'My Blog' link on the bottom right. It will open a new window with all your entries.

        Hi Nate and Jeff -

I really like how you set up the blog names and the posting names. Very easy to figure out who is making the entry now. Glad you're feeling better! Thank you!!

            Re: New Journal Questions

Do you have any stats on how these new journals are working? I know that I read more than I did before and I've gotten a LOT more comments on my journal since we switched format.

I don't understand the google ads though. It was stuck on "anniversary gifts" forever and I'd never talked about anniversaries at all. Now it seems to fit with my blog.

But are their really only 5 people doing the challenge this year? Wheres Jeffery's challenge?

Not sure what you mean by stats on whether the journals are working. We figure you'll get more comments just because it's much easier to follow them with the individual posts. It's going to be a long process to grow them. They are well known withing the savingadvice community, but not so much outside of here. In that sense, they still have a huge potential in growth.

No, the challenge just shows the last 5 posts that have been made within the challenge category. There also seems to be a bug so it isn't showing the latest post if there is a post already in the top five which I'll have Nate take a look at tomorrow.

My challenge still exists, but has been on hold this month as we have been trying to get the blogs going. Lots for me to catch up upon

Is there a way to alphabatize when you click the all journal part? I look for a couple, but I never remember where they are, I will eventually so no big if Nate can't.

                      Re: New Journal Questions

Jeffrey, I meant something like, how have the numbers changed? Numbers such as views/day and comments posted. I know that I personally have clicked through to more per day with the new format and I have left more comments lately too.

Those 2 things, to me, make it a more successful format in that I want the feedback and views.

I like the new front page, too.

"Most active blogs" must be the ones who have posted most since we moved to the new format, huh? I would think DivaJen would be at the top, otherwise.

There isn't at the moment. I'll pass this along to Nate. I don't think it will be a major problem to incorporate (I can say things like that because I don't have to actually do it )

It's hard for us to tell since we didn't really keep track of the numbers in the old journals - they were part of the forums so all the data got lumped together there, but the seem to be more active. We are also promoting them more in the newsletter and have links on the front page which should draw more traffic to them.

Now comes the hard part. I've started to promote the blogs, but there is a lot of simple things that can be done to help promote your own blog (if you're so inclined). I will be writing up a series and easy steps you can take to make get more people to read your blog (and the more people that read, the more comments and feedback you'll receive).

Yes, most active blogs are the members who have posted the most this month. They will be reset each month. We will likely be adding more lists to the front page as time goes on so you can see the blogs in a variety of ways.

I had a different idea, I know I am just making work for poor Nate... but could we have like journal buddies, like a short list after the cp thing of journals we go to all the time? that way I could lick the two or three I always read. it could be public or not, dunno how much I am asking here.
