  • I'm In!

This is a great challenge that has motivated me to do something that I was going to put off until the kids started school in three weeks.

I have tested the waters in this at the beginning of the summer and it was a great success. The kids have been home and we have been on vacation and doing fun stuff so I didn't stick with it, but planned on getting going again once they started school. This challenge is just giving me a jump start. Here is what I do:

I have been selling websites on ebay. It's not that hard-I'm not a website programming genius. I just found a really cool web host with a really easy to use website builder. I know a little bit of html to use for adding affiliate links and images, but that's about it. Selling websites that sell ebooks is the best way to go. That's the hardest part-finding an ebook with re-sell rights that is worth building a website around.

I have a website that I was going to use-not sell. But in order to get the featured listing ($19.95-which is definitely worth it in this category)I will have to sell this one because I won't have to pay for hosting or a domain and I will be using the $20 for a listing fee. Hopefully I will make enough money from this site to get me going.

I have an advantage because I do have more time than some of you. I am a stay at home mom and all but one of my kids are in school. As I've learned from reading Jeff's posts, time is money. I plan on using this to my advantage.

I am going to try to tweek the site a little bit and list it tonight. I'll post when I get it listed.
    Wish me luck!

I have finished tweaking the website and have it submitted on ebay. I scheduled the listing for prime time closing and plus the insertion fee-so I went in the hole $.90! Here's what's going on:
    Total tweaking time: 2 hrs
    Starting balance $20
    Total Listing Fee: $20.90
    Balance -$.90

If you're curious you can view the listing here:

I'll keep you updated on bids.

Oh man!! The website only sold for $1.00! Am I out, or can I try again?

That is completely up to you. You are more than free to try again.

Wasn't that $20 a starting point? Thus when you paid for the Ebay fees, it would have been $19.10, right? So you still have that much to go to try again. Also, the $1.00 probably paid for the listing fee, so you come out $0.10 ahead... not much, but it's a start. Or am I understanding wrong?
