How many visitors to make a profit

So yesterday I was momentarily miffed to discover saving my firefly entry as a draft made the first entry disappear. So of course I felt I had to rush and finish so that I again had an entry on the front page.

Then I thought how silly that was, not like I make money on this. But it got me wondering just how many folk look at my page, so I chekced my stats, and egads! I had more visitors than emails!

But yet, it is still not a money making blog, so it raised the question, just how many folk do you need to visit to make a blog profitable? (not that I plan on leaving, nor performing better/worse perfectly happy with my blog being here as it is) Just wondered.

Very much depends on the type of blog. Frugal/Saving Money blogs won't bring in much (ie probably not worth your time if you do it primarily for the money) but other areas such as Debt can do well. Of course obviously the amount of traffic is very important too.
